A handheld game I had a few years ago which you scan bar-codes to find Monsters, Does anyone know what it is?

You used to scan items which you find in your house etc. And you find monsters to keep or fight and then you can use the barcodes which you get with it to heal your "monsters" I can not remember what the system was called does anyone know?
