I recently stopped receiving many emails addressed to my yahoo.com account - why?

Daily emails such as newsletters stopped arriving around 2 weeks ago. At the same time, people have told me that emails they sent to me (either as new or as replies to emails I sent them) have bounced back as undeliverable. Everything was fine with my yahoo.com account for many years. Why have I suddenly stopped receiving many important emails, while still receiving many others?
