Gladiators with skinny jeans: Yay or Nay?

So with fall coming I plan on wearing skinny jeans, cardigans, oversized comfy sweatshirts, etc. So would I be able to pull off wearing gladiator sandals with my jeans? I'm not talking very strappy gladiators, but ones that go up just before the ankle, so my jeans would hide that part.
