Unable to breathe after throwing up?

I spent the night drinking and when I came home in the morning I felt really sick (headache and nausea). I went to the bathroom feeling like throwing up but my stomach was empty so i just had a bit of gastric acid (or whatever it was) coming up my throat. I guess I swallowed and right after that I was unable to breathe for a few seconds - I was trying really hard to inhale but very little air was ping through. It didn't feel like choking at all and it just went away after some time. I'm not sure what it was and it scared me - maybe airway constriction? I never experienced anything similar, no respiratory problems. If relevant, I was very upset when it happened.
