At last the other side's version -- possibly even the whole truth ?

Is this the same inspector that was dismissed by the Portuguese police for incompetence?If so he sounds a very "reliable" source of information. The only problem we have is to wait until he has sobered up before we can ask him anything. I am surprise that he can even remember where he was on that fatefull night let alone any details of it.
